"Does Ethics Pay? Does It Matter?" Some well-intentioned people think that ethics is somehow tainted if it is at all motivated by a personal or business interest. For example, I shouldn’t be honest with customers in order to get their repeat business --but “just because it’s right.” I shouldn’t treat my employees kindly in order to get them to stick around and work harder --- but “just because it’s right.”

Speaker Bio: David W. Gill (Ph.D., USC) is the author of seven books including Doing Right: Practicing Ethical Principles (2004) and It’s About Excellence: Building Ethically Healthy Organizations (2008). He has been professor of business ethics for the MBA program at St. Mary’s College (Moraga CA) for the past six years but has just been appointed Mockler-Phillips Professor of Workplace Theology and Business Ethics at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary near Boston MA.
