Scott Griffin
Boeing Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), Retired
Speaker Bio: Scott Griffin retired from Boeing in 2007 in order to work full time in the nonprofit sector as a pro bono consultant. He is currently doing confidential consulting with nonprofit boards in Washington, New York, Illinois, Michigan and California. Scott has an MBA from the University of Puget Sound (1982) and a BA from Fresno State University (1976). Upon retiring from Boeing, he completed a Masters degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University.
In twenty-eight years with Boeing, Scott held leadership positions in Customer Services, Manufacturing, Engineering and Information Technology. He became the VP & CIO for Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 1997. In 1999, he was promoted to Boeing VP & CIO with responsibility for all information technology used by Boeing worldwide. He held that position until he retired in 2007.
Scott has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, The CIO Research Board and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. He is a member of the Executive Committee for the Center for Integrity in Business and member of the Advisory Board for the SPU School of Business and Economics. He serves as an Elder in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) of Renton. Scott and his wife Mary live in Renton and have three children - Beka, Katie and Matthew.
